PU - Digital Forensics

Digital Forensics introduces students to the essential concepts and practices of computer forensics, equipping them to understand and investigate cybercrimes within legal and regulatory frameworks. Learners will gain insight into the foundational elements of digital forensics, including the identification, preservation, and analysis of digital evidence from a variety of systems and storage media. The curriculum covers critical technical skills such as live system analysis, investigating various file systems and disk structures, and mastering data acquisition techniques for forensic purposes. Additionally, students will develop the capability to recognize and counter anti-forensics tactics, utilize evidence recovery methods, and conduct advanced Windows forensics. The course is designed to prepare participants for real-world challenges in digital investigations, emphasizing methodological rigor, incident response, and the importance of forensic readiness in both organizational and law enforcement contexts.
