Course Overview
In this course, students will explore the fundamentals of malware and malware analysis. The course begins by introducing malware, its various forms, and why malware analysis is critical for cybersecurity professionals. Students will learn about two main types of analysis—static and dynamic. The course focuses heavily on static analysis techniques, including inspecting file headers, extracting strings, and fingerprinting malware.
To support the hands-on nature of the course, learners will set up a virtual lab environment where they can safely analyze malware samples. The lab environment will mimic real-world conditions and give learners the tools they need to perform effective analysis.
