Securing Computing Systems

This course provides a detailed exploration of fundamental security principles and best practices necessary for protecting modern digital infrastructures. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of core security concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability, as well as practical skills in implementing security controls. The course covers various threat actors, attack surfaces, and social engineering tactics, while also diving into cryptographic solutions such as algorithms and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).

In addition, learners will explore the implementation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) through authentication and authorization techniques. The course addresses the security of enterprise and cloud network architectures, with a focus on network appliances, secure communications, embedded systems, and Zero Trust Architecture. Finally, students will learn key strategies for enhancing resiliency and site security, including asset management, redundancy, physical security, and comprehensive vulnerability management in both on-premises and cloud environments.
